🚨 How do British covert plain-clothes police hide their handcuffs radio baton & spray? A harness.

Well, I didn't actually expect to actually end up with this. I had a few drinks and was sniped at the last second on eBay for some cuffs! I saw a related item and threw a cheap bid on it, just to do it. Well it ended up winning lol. Ever wondered where British / MET undercover or more accurately plain-clothes police officers hide their gear to blend in? Under their arms, in many cases. They often use a harness that lets them dangle their communications radio, expandable baton, handcuffs and PAVA or pepper spray within reach, while being concealed by loose-fitting clothing, or a jacket that can be either zipped up or left open for quick access when needed. A truly undercover cop may not even have any equipment on them, but for times when there needs to be a police presence without advertising their presence, kit like this harness comes into play. Being in the UK, obviously I do not have an expandable baton or the spray that I can put in, nor do I have a radio. But I have handcuffs, can visually illustrate an expandable baton by showing an old wooden one and an antenna to convey the concept and a handy bottle of insect repellent will do the job of being a stand in for the PAVA or pepper spray pouch. To visually illustrate communication equipment I used a RF Bug detector (which has a similar basic appearance as a radio) and an anti-radiation acoustic tube communication system, but with no way to mount it, it was only used on the overview section to show what would be there. You could put a body camera there but it wouldn't point forward, so would be pretty pointless. To fill up the baton spot and add weight, I put a fenix flashlight in that pouch. It is quite comfortable, actually. It has velcro loops that you can attach to your belt to prevent the two sides from massively flopping around if you were running or jogging. It is adjustable for how high or low you want the gear riding, depending on torso height of the wearer or to customise based on the kind of clothing being used to conceal the equipment etc. For me, an absolutely useless item lol. But it was cheap, really excellent condition and something else to do a video on for people who are curious about how most (if not all) covert or undercover police hide their equipment. I have actually seen one in use when two plain clothes officers arrested someone on the street in town a couple years ago. Very cool. Enjoy. ps, this did remind me of this part of The Office lol    • The Office UK - Gareth's Phone
