Southern Steam Up! Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th June 2023 – Featuring SECR O1 No. 65 and Ivatt tank 41313! Join us for our Southern Steam Up, celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the formation of the Southern Railway and featuring SECR O1 No. 65, Ivatt tank 41313 and Bulleid Pacific 34072 ‘257 Squadron’ plus more! Our Steam Up this year has quite a Southern theme surrounding it with three Southern region locomotives in action as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the formation of the Southern Railway. Established in 1923 as part of the grouping of many major railway companies, including the London Brighton & South Coast Railway, South Eastern & Chatham Railway and London South Western Railway to name but a few the Southern Railway operated trains all over the South East, South West, and South of England until 1947 when British Railways was formed. This event will feature up to FIVE steam locomotives in action, two of which are visiting especially for this event, hauling trains along the Spa Valley Railway between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge.
