Stick Marsh is being lowered as part of a habitat enhancement project. Join me as I kayak Stick Marsh to show you what we found and the current drawdown water levels. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) are conducting a large-scale lake habitat restoration project for Stick Marsh. This drawdown will be the first ever conducted on Stick Marsh/Farm13. The project will likely involve the removal of cattails and sawgrass, and other vegetation to improve the habitat for game fish species such as bass and crappie. We will update you about the Stick Marsh project regularly until the project is completed.
