Big Cybertruck News! Road Panel install in Boring Tunnel! 4 Oct 2024 Giga Texas Update (08:35AM)

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and soon, the Next Generation Car! Beautiful blue skies, light winds & nice temperatures for this big news day at Giga Texas! the biggest news is of course the official start to production & sales of the Non-Foundation Series of the Cybertruck. This was announced late last night and current reservation holders are now given the option to configure their Non-Foundation AWD of Cyberbeast, with up to a $20,000 savings (depending on options) as compared to the Foundation Series versions. Some pricing includes #3.5K for the Cyber wheels and Tires, $2K for the white interior (grey is standard) and $7K for FSD (reservation holders) or $8K for non-reservation holders. Other options are also available. The big question is if any of the Non-Foundation Cybertruck qualify for the EV tax credit due to new tariffs put into place by the US Government. There is a $7.5K rebate for commercial versions of the truck, so at least there is an option for certain customers to bring the price down to the low #70K range. I also talk about the big week for Tesla coming up next week with the 10 October We Robot event in Los Angeles. This may unveil the new Robotaxi, Optimus Robots, partnerships with other auto companies, or perhaps new products or vehicle models, some of which may be built right here at Giga Texas. Timestamps: Drone flight overview with discussion & illustration: 0:06 to 4:06 Drone flight footage & infographics: 4:30 to 25:14 A few other highlights to look for today: The Boring Company crews continue to install new road surface concrete liners in the west tunnel, and once completed, this will allow vehicular traffic to drive from the south extension, under the main highway and out to the outbound lot. II estimate it will be another week until this work is completed, and then additional work will need to occur for the facing structure and roadways from the tunnel to the outbound lot and/or the End-of-Line (EOL) facility for processing. On the north end, crews were working at the electrical switchyard, where all forms have been removed form the recently-poured concrete transformer slab and catch basin. Footing construction continues north of the slab for the steel assemblies that will carry the electrical cables to the new transformer. On the east side of casting, crews were adding roof decking on top of the new steel structure that covers over the loading and receiving area where Dies for the Giga Presses will be handled. It appears a valley gutter system is being used to manage the rain water runoff and there is some new grade work on the north end, presumably to allow the completion of the concrete apron area in this location.
