Practice - Cone Weave & Braking

We go down to the Middle school for some cone practice & braking. The school is closed for summer, but they left the cones out for the Pick-up Line which is nice. There is a slight grade and a curve in this set-up which adds some difficulty. I miss a lot of cones while I am learning to adjust for the speed differential in the slight up/down grade. These cones are twelve paces apart. Once I can consistently do this, we will bring them closer and begin adding off-set. Practicing cone weaving is one way to become confident in handling your bike. While this specific skill may not be needed on the road, I've come across various obstacles in a row on the road that needed quick navigating, such as multiple potholes and a dead possum! I am also a firm believer in the more confidence you have in the ability to control your bike, the better your experience will be out on the road.
