I struggled with an anxiety I'd never experienced before, that would prevent me from leaving the house for months. I can't explain it, but exiting my front door was paralysing. It felt impossible. I felt so isolated, watching the leaves change on the trees I could see from my window. I was caught in an endless cycle of bad news. No matter how hard I tried everything felt so hard. I started to believe I was being cosmically punished for something. I felt like it was never going to end, and that all I could do was resign myself to this being my life for the rest of time. This was not true of course, as I've been able to make it out of that darkness and can now leave the house again! But I hope this connects with you if you've ever felt isolated, alone, desperate, or downright hopeless. And if you're there right now, know there's light on the other side. I'm rooting for you.
