What Happened to the Durr Burger Head?? (Chapter 1: Season 5 ARG)

An Alternate Reality Game is a type of game that spans different forms of media, and it integrates with the real world. This can involve websites, phone numbers, audio, video, images, real-world locations, or puzzle solving. In some cases, ARGs may even hire actors to portray in-game characters. The way Fortnite decided to carry out its ARGs is through what culminated after the 'Blast Off' Event. Audio files, spectrograms, symbols, and phone numbers were used to tease upcoming changes to the game's map and storyline. It was a blend of real-world integration and in-game events. The Durr Burger rifting away in Greasy Grove, only to appear in the California Desert, a phone number handed out by 'agents' that led to players using spectrograms, using ASCII, and Binary to translate what was happening in the game, and the use of rifts bridged the gap between in-game and reality, with Loot Llamas popping up all over Europe. This new approach of storytelling that Epic Games had done not only advertised and promoted the game to new audiences, but also deepened player engagement. This ARG that I am talking about is one of the more popular ARGs that Fortnite has done which was the lead-up to Chapter 1: Season 5, Worlds Collide. I thought of this topic at the end of May while I was taking a shower. I feel like it fits in chronologically after the 'Fortnite OG Was a Disaster' video. The reason why this video is scheduled at the end of June is to coincide with the "Blast-Off" Event that happened on June 30th, 2018, six years later.
