5 Deadliest Republic Star Fighters | Star Wars Ranked

What starfighter was best for the Republic during the Clone Wars? Watch today's Star Wars Top 5 to find out! Summary: From the Jedi Interceptor and the Jedi Starfighter to the ARC 170, the Republic created a bevvy of powerful and effective fighters for use by both their clone pilots and their Jedi Knights. Which ship is king? You'll have to watch the video to find out. I've listed the fighters below, though in no particular order. Also, all of these ships are in legends and canon! Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 starfighter (ARC 170): The heaviest ship used by the Republic navy, the ARC 170 was piloted by two clones, a gunner, and an astromech droid. I would best describe the ARC 170 as a cross between an X Wing and a B Wing. These ships supported Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker at the Battle of Coruscant in Revenge of the Sith. Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing Starfighter The Nimbus V was a precursor to the Galactic Empire's tie fighter, and was appropriately very fast with minimal shielding. I'd actually say it's closest to a tie interceptor, for what it's worth. Eta-2 Actis-Class Interceptor Another unshielded ship, and one of the two starfighters known as Jedi Interceptors and Jedi Starfighters. These light ships were used by Obi Wan and Anakin at the Battle of Coruscant. Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor: Despite the name, unlike some ships on the list the Delta 7B (the other Jedi Starfighter/Interceptor) was actually well shielded. This ship was used by Obi Wan in his space battle against Jango Fett in Star Wars Attack of the Clones. Clone Z-95 Starfighter: A modified version of the Z-95 Headhunter, the clone Z-95 was an extremely versatile ship with good shielding, weaponry, and speed. Also, like the ARC-170, the Z-95 was the precursor to the X Wing.
