He claims he never made the controversial joke about black people not being able to swim. Instead, Mencia said his comments questioned the logic of building a city below sea level. He said he did include a version of the aforementioned joke in his act, but only because there were statistics supporting it at the time. The comedian also addressed a misunderstanding that led to being banned from a few locations. Mencia also discussed his relationships with fellow comedians, acknowledging that he may have unintentionally hurt others in the past due to insensitivity and a skewed sense of humor.
