Enduring Activity: Clinical Case Review: Diagnosis and Treatment of Hand and Arm Pain Target Audience This activity is targeted towards primary care providers (internists, IM/P, and family practitioners). Statement of Need Many clinicians do not routinely follow clinical practice guidelines or are unaware of new treatment modalities which will result in improved health outcomes. Providing education opportunities in targeted areas as well as adult specialty areas should improve a physician’s knowledge base and patient outcomes. Objectives At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to: • Diagnose and offer non-operative treatments for the most common hand and arm ailments that drive patients to see a provider. • Identify and describe basic treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome, Thumb basal joint arthritis, tennis elbow, cubital tunnel syndrome, dequervain's tendonitis, trigger finger, paronychia, wrist arthritis, golfer's elbow, and finger arthritis.
