In this live show called 'One Man Tirbe' Ben creates a massive tribe-of-drummers sound with his ten-piece Senegalese drum set and presents his compositions on the Xalam, a Senegalese string instrument. After long research, Ben offers a new perspective leaning on vast ancient musical traditions, inspired mostly by Senegalese and Malian musical heritages. In his live show, Ben presents traditional rhythms as a foundation for improvisation and on-the-spot live expression. Ben's debut solo album 'Xalam' featuring West African legends Doudou Ndiaye Rose, Khaira Arby and Amy Sacko, released on World Music Network hit #5 on the Transglobal World Music Charts and #5 on the World Music Charts Europe. The album received a 5 star 'Top of The World' review on Songlines magazine, a 4 star review on DownBeat Magazine, and was titled Best Album 2021 by Songlines Magazine. Ben's drumming and work have been acknowledged by Youssou Ndour and Doudou Ndiaye Rose, gain​ing​ national recognition in Senegal after being featured on famous Senegalese TV shows with millions of viewers, and ​having solo shows around the capital, Dakar​.
