'CRAZY CAVAN' - CAVAN GROGAN - A TRIBUTE

Any real Rock n Roll fan will not need an introduction to Crazy Cavan and the Rhythm Rockers. They were at the very early beginnings of the Rockabilly Revival in the UK, some might even say they had a massive part in the whole revival itself. Cavan Grogan was a vocalist with rockabilly group Crazy Cavan and the Rhythm Rockers. He formed the band in 1964, quickly amassing a loyal following with their abrasive style of rock ‘n’ roll. Considered by many as pioneers of the Teddy Boy culture revival in the UK, the Rhythm Rockers toured tirelessly over the past 50 years, performing shows and festivals all around Europe. The band remained almost unchanged throughout its career, with its most recent lineup featuring Lyndon Needs, Terry Walley, Mike Coffey and Graham Price. They were the first Rock n Roll band I saw at a club when I was 14. I watched them ever since and saw them perform at many many shows around the world and even booked them over the years in London. I also had the pleasure at performing on the very same shows that Cavan was playing at many times over the years. He was always sweet and very nice, a real gentleman even though he looked like a man who could kill you with and ice cold stare. The passing of Cavan Grogan on Feb 15 2020 (my birthday) at age 70 was a sad loss for myself, his family, friends and fans all over the Rock n Roll world. Here is my very small tribute to a man who never stopped Rockin right up till his last day. Cavan Grogan. RIP.
