I cut or speed up most of my aerotow videos but on this one I thought I would leave the full aerotow on there as a learning tool for anyone looking to take up aerotow. I have to pinch myself sometimes having such an amazing aerotow field plus getting coaching off the likes of multiple-HG-record-holder Carl Wallbank. And as you can see on this flight, tug pilot Chris Jones dropped me right into lift. We hit some very rough air at 1:30 in this video. I almost decided to get off the tow but the Sport 3 is so well behaved on tow that I was able to sort it out and carry on the tow. This tow was from chest only and no fin fitted to the glider (the Sport 3 really doesn't need a fin). I had just over 1/2 VG set which I find gives a much better tow than less than 1/2. You will notice the times yaw PIO starts to set up, I bring my hands in to the centre of the bar (to force myself not to put roll/yaw inputs in) and the glider immediately tracks straight again.
