How to Reuse a McGrath Video Laryngoscope Battery Pack

McGrath video laryngoscope batteries are very difficult to get ahold of at this time due to production line issues. Presented here is a method for replacing the macgrath battery cell and reusing the battery pack, should you need it. iPhone app used in the video: "NFC Tap" Here is the data that you will need to write to the RFID of the battery pack: Block 0: 2A030003 Block 1: 00000000 6/17/20 Two updates: NEW CELLS I've now tested 4 total battery cells that are available on amazon and here are the results: 1. Xeno: 141 min (Product link: https://amzn.to/3LlcEpu) 2. EM3: 143 min (Product link: https://amzn.to/3eb5OBz) §§§ 3. Saft LS: 153 min (Product link: https://amzn.to/2N4aOfB) 4. PK Cell: 142 min (Product link: https://amzn.to/3hExDEI) The theme here is NONE of the batteries found on amazon last 250 min. The OEM McGrath cell is listed as 2100 mA-h and all of these batteries claim to be at least that (range 2100 - 2400). My best conclusion here is that these batteries are just being sold with false claims about their capacity. They're relatively cheap ($3 - $5 each) so these batteries are still a good deal overall. Since I now have a small pile of these batteries my plan is to write the timecode for 125 minutes to the battery pack and exchange these batteries every 125 min. Here is the RFID data for 125 min: Block 0: B2010003 Block 1: 7D001400 §§§ this cell is slightly shorter than a standard AA and required a dab of solder to fit properly, I recommend against purchasing. OEM CELLS How long does the OEM battery cell last in total? I reset 2 used OEM battery packs without replacing the battery cell and let them run to completion. The batteries lasted a total of 456 min (250 + 206 after reset)* and 432 min (250 + 182 after reset)** respectively. Seeing as both of these lasted over 180 min it's probably safe to reset and reuse the battery at 180 min (or 170 min if you want to be conservative) 180 min Block 0: 58020003 Block 1: 46001700 170 min Block 0: 3A020003 Block 1: 50002100 The 2 different cells that I've pulled out of the OEM battery packs *Red HCB cell **White Safe-Plus Cell If you have any other questions please post a comment in the comment section and I will try my best to answer it.
