Mulder the Sprocker - 3 Weeks Residential Dog Training

Mulder the sprocker has completed his 3 week residential training stay. He’s a lovely boy but his behaviour on walks can be challenging and make walks very stressful and restrictive. He struggles to stay calm when on the lead and this can cause lots of barking and screaming, as well as frantic pulling. During Mulder’s training, we focused on reinforcing calmer behaviour throughout walks, teaching him to remain in a better mindset and not practice such high-arousal behaviours. While his recall was good, he found it hard to stay calm when off lead and this added to his on-lead struggles. There is a long way to go but Mulder is now better at staying calmer and has more skills to keep focused on his owners and become less aroused by the environment. His level of frustration on the lead is much lower, meaning he’s now less vocal and able to walk more calmly.
