On Sunday the 5th of November 2017, The Railway Preservation Society of Ireland's recently preserved Q class steam locomotive number 131 is seen here on it's trial runs between Whitehead Carrickfergus and Carrickfergus - Belfast Central. 0:00 - 1:35, To start the video off we head to the former station of Barn, located between Carrickfergus and Downshire where we see Q class locomotive number 131 passing light engine while heading to Carrickfergus, 131 started it's trials by running light engine, then it would haul a train later in the day. 1:35 - 4:06, next we head to Downshire Station where we see 131 passing while returning to Whitehead light engine, there it would collect five Mark 2 coaches before departing to Carrickfergus. 4:06 - 13:54, next we head to the beautiful Carrickfergus station where we see 131 arriving and departing with it's first train on the mainline since 1963, so a very historic moment. We also see two NIR CAF class 3000 DMU's on local services. 13:54 - 15:14, next we head to East Bridge Street located right outside Belfast Central station where we see 131 arriving at Belfast Central for the very first time, again a very historic moment. 15:14 - 16:24, and finally to end the day we head to the Dargan Bridge where we see 131 passing while returning back to Whitehead after a successful day of trails.
