Cairns to Cape York Day One: I’ve really wanted to do this trip for a long time so decided to bite the bullet and join a tour group solo. Have never really been a fan of these, however it ended up being great. We were the first group of this particular company for the season. So a lot in regards to the tracks were unknown. Unfortunately, there was a locked gate for one track and the creb track was impassable due to the height of the river (as you will see). So we were taken via the Bloomfield track to the lions den for the night. There was a few teething issues with my bike at the start, but they were easily fixed by the guides (which were excellent). A great day and a nice way to ease into what was to come for the following 5 days. Especially day two... Hope you enjoy!
