Gleaner R62 Harvesting Corn!

This is a new video series that I have been waiting to do. I love tractors and love seeing them in action. I figure I would start showing them in action for all of you to watch as well. I live in Northwest Ohio And with so much farmland there are many different tractors working the fields. I would like to just film the tractors in action for you to watch then post the history and speciations here for you to read. I think its better for those who do not want to listen to the speciations. Let me know what you think. I was lucky enough to find a local farmer today that would let me video him today in the field. Ok let's get started. Its A sunny November day in Ohio and I have always had a love for Gleaner combines. I spent many of hours of my younger life in the Gleaner N series combines in the early 80s. There is just something about a Gleaner that I still love today. The look, The sound, And they are just not your average combines. The Gleaner R62 that I filmed today is a unique combine. They were produced from 1992-2002. In 1985 Gleaner went from Allis Chalmers to Deutz Allis Gleaner. In 1991 they became AGCO ( Allis Gleaner Company). Lots of changes happened when the R62 was produced. The R62 had a grain tank capacity of 300 bushels. The R62 was introduced in 1992 and it had a Deutz air cooled B series 12.8 L V-8 diesel engine rated at 260 HP. In 1996 the R62 went to a Cummins 6 CTA 8.3 L 505 CI 260 HP engine. The R62 was produced from 1992-2002. From 1996 - 2002 the R62 had a Cummins engine. The other big change for Gleaner combines is with the R series is the first time the combines received a silver paint was in 1997. Up until 1997 Gleaner combines had galvaned sheet metal. This R62 pictured in this video is a painted R62 sporting the Cummins engine. I love the sound of the engine working Case IH STX 275 The Case IH 275 you see in this video was manufactured from 2002-2005. It has a CDC 6 cylinder turbo charged 504 CI 275 HP diesel engine. It weighs in at 31,785 LBS. Kilbros Model 1200 Cart The Kilbros 1200 cart seen here has a 800 bushel capacity.
