New Haven Westminster chime mantel clock

Some of you might recognize this clock from the Metcalf video I made about a month ago. I noticed that it was 50% off of its original price, which worked out to be $87, and since I had wanted one of these for a while, I decided to save up for it. This clock caught my eye when I originally saw it because of its exuberant 30s art deco design. The movement in this is the same type of movement that New Haven used in their Westminster banjo clocks. However those didn't have a 5th rod for the hour strike, and instead struck on 2 of the 4 chiming rods. These movements have a reputation for being difficult to work on due to how compact everything is in it. This is now my favorite American clock in my collection. Definitively a keeper
