Roberto Delgado - The Mosquito

Roberto Delgado was a pseudonym used by the German bandleader, composer and arranger Horst Wende. At first (1940's-early 50's) he issued albums under his own name, but during the 1950's Horst was discovered by Polydor and soon he started to record latin music (as Roberto Delgado). The Delgado story became a big success and as a result, Polydor - by the mid sixties - had three major orchestras which scored high with the easy listening audience : James Last, Bert Kaempfert and Roberto Delgado. More than 90 albums were released, most of which included pure latin music but some also covered eg Greec, African and Jamaican sounds. Originally performed by The Doors in 1972 (and also composed by the band members!) this "Mosquito" turns into a catchy and happy latin tune, typical of "the Roberto Delgado sound" ! Enjoy !
