Mustool G1200 Microscope Review And Detailed Teardown [RS CC]

Information About Clip: Video is not sponsored in any way. The Mustool G1200 microscope is really good for it's price. It's not professional microscope but for hobbyists and amateurs it's definitely worth it's price. The stand is quite heavy for it's size which is good because the image is more stable when microscope is not shaking. At high zoom levels small movement makes the object disappear from the point of view. Microscope also has nice display and USB option to use it as web camera on pc. There is also SD card slot for taking pictures and videos. Video quality is best on the screen itself then on the SD card. Display probably uses 24 bit RGB DPI(Display Parallel Interface) and it could be possible to bridge it to CSI then record it with Raspberry Pi. Even better, if we knew the sensor model we could replace main control board with pi zero thus getting better image quality and flexibility. Webcam video quality and photo quality are very similar. The charger is not impressing. It's classic cheapo from China but at least it has fuse and 3.5mm insulation between primary and secondary. Still the transformer's insulation is questionable. USB cable will not last long because it's really soft and its probably going to break if it's used a lot. I recommend keeping it plugged into microscope. The battery charging circuit is added in G1200. It was not present in G600. That is nice because it will extend the life of internal battery and it's much safer. Internal battery is Li-Po 3.7V 3Ah with dimensions 46x54x10mm and you can fit battery with dimensions up to 50x65x12mm. If I have forgot something I'm sorry. I tried to focus on the internals to make a review a little bit different from others.
