The flight, carrying 45 passengers and crew, was en route from Montevideo to Santiago when it encountered severe weather and navigational errors, leading to a crash in a remote and treacherous area. The survivors, facing extreme cold, high altitudes, and dwindling supplies, endured harrowing conditions, resorting to cannibalism to stay alive.
