By understanding the psychology of the other party, and finding a scenario where you both receive value, you can improve your income, steer the direction of a group project, influence a group of peers, and generally accomplish more. Soft skills like these are really the most important 'super powers' in every day life. In this video, I discuss a number of negotiation techniques and concepts - including understanding the ZOPA (zone of possible agreement), engaging in a little pre-suasion, priming the other party, anchoring the conversation, and finding a good compromise - among many others. These can apply to your career (especially if you are self employed), your relationships, and a range of other contexts - but use them negotiation techniques sparingly - with great power comes great responsibility! This is part one of my psychological warfare series. I will also be covering body language, building rapport, persuasion, and more in future. And this is a topic that my future mystery collaborator will be delving into in even greater depth! It's time we all became Machiavellis!
