Summited Mt Jefferson on 7/26/24 C2C. Though the smoke from all of the Oregon fires limited the visibility on top, the mountain was still amazing. Jefferson had everything you want in a mountain, elevation gain, scrambling, glacier travel, rappelling, and an amazingly beautiful lead up hike. Of all the cascade volcanoes I rank Jefferson as the hardest (due to distance and time taken), and the second best of all the summits behind Mt Hood only because of the access to hood and the many routes and variations. I actually felt the rock on Jefferson was better than many other cascade volcanoes and I had not issues with it. The glacier crossing was difficult as it was very hard ice on the way across and the way back the snow was melting and soft.
