Farewell Bankstown Line! Last Heritage Steam & Electric Trains on the Bankstown Line [4K]

On the weekend 14th & 15th September 2024 Transport Heritage NSW farewelled the Bankstown Line in style by giving the public one last opportunity to ride a heritage steam and electric train on the line. Transport Heritage NSW operated multiple trips on the line with steam locomotive 3265, and vintage electric set F1. In this video we see 3265 and F1 at various locations along the Bankstown Line recorded on Sunday 15th September. We start at Central where we see F1 arrive in preparation of its first shuttle trip of the day. We see this train later on passing through Canterbury on its way to the Villawood turnback. Afterwards we visit Wiley Park where we see 3265 chugging along on its first trip of the day, before heading to Lakemba where we see F1 again on its return journey to central. At Bankstown we see F1 again on its second trip of the day which included a photostop at the station. We see the train then exit the station and enter the adjacent turnback siding. We then see F1 on its return trip to Central at Dulwich Hill, followed shortly by 3265 on its second trip of the day. We then head to Marrickville where we see F1 on its third trip, this being the last time a heritage electric train traveled on the Bankstown Line. We then head back to Central where we see 3265 shunt around the station in preparation for its final trip, before seeing F1 arrive after performing its last ever journey on the Bankstown Line. We finish the video at Canterbury where we see 3265 passing though, this being the last time a steam train traveled on the Bankstown Line.
