Additional information: Counters are armored moves indicated by the Pokémon flashing blue. They absorb all non-piercing hits, but take extra damage if grabbed. A basic counter attack (X+A) is shared across all characters as a universal option. Red Armor is indicated by the Pokémon flashing red. Attacks with this property absorb hits like Counters, but damage is added to grey life instead of being completely negated. They also count as having the attack property, so they will crush throws. They usually have some kind of major drawback in exchange, like being extremely unsafe or saddling the user with debuffs.
