7. I'm In Love With My Car (Queen-Live In Copenhagen: 4/13/1978) (Udmærket Upload)

Hej Simon Christensen! Hvordan har du det? Uhhh.... Tillykke med fødselsdagen! That's all the Danish I know, sorry! God morgen everybody! I was recently informed that a certain subscriber by the name of Simon Christensen has turned 18! Happy birthday great Dane! On his last birthday, I uploaded 3/22/1976 (Tokyo) for him and I think he enjoyed that show. For his 18th birthday, I thought I'd step it up a notch and upload a gig from his home country (he did ask multiple times as well)! This is a better copy of the same Copenhagen source that has been on my channel for a long time. This version of the audience recording has slightly better sound quality and the pitch wobble has been eliminated! To date, this is the best version of this concert and I can't wait for people to listen and enjoy it! The sound quality is great and it's 100% complete! With better ears, better attention to detail, and a better version of this show, this excellent concert from København Denmark is a candidate for the best show on the NOTW Tour and has been acclaimed as being one of Queen's finest shows overall. It has also been compared with the previous concert (Stockholm) and some songs sound better at this show (maybe Queen saw Simon in the audience despite him not being born yet--I'll ask him about that)! This is one of the Queen recordings that every fan (regardless of fan level) must listen to! The band sound tight at this show overall (despite being only the second gig on the 1978 leg of the NOTW Tour) and Freddie's voice is in excellent shape. He's particularly gutsy on some songs and his various phrasings on songs make this a fun show to listen to. Some of his performances actually can rival some performances from the Crazy Tour! Now... time to rant about this show! The slow "We Will Rock You" sounds excellent with Freddie nailing the song, the fast "We Will Rock You" has Brian settling into song somewhat, but the main bulk of the song sounds great with Freddie nailing all the A4s and hits a B4 during the second verse like Stockholm (that should make Simon orgasm), "Brighton Rock" is a great version with Freddie doing nice phrasing, "Somebody To Love" isn't quite as epic as Stockholm's version, but it's still a great version with Freddie getting some good notes, "Death On Two Legs" sounds great with Freddie singing it well, "Killer Queen" highlights why the NOTW Tour has some of the best versions as Freddie sings it very playfully and sounds awesome, "Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy" is a solid version, "I'm In Love With My Car" is an elite version as Freddie nails the chorus parts along with Roger (the NOTW Tour is the only tour where Freddie sings with Roger on the chorus lines), "Get Down Make Love" sounds excellent, "The Millionaire Waltz" has Freddie cluttering during the piano intro, but the main bulk of the song is strong, "You're My Best Friend" sounds excellent, "Spread Your Wings" is the best pre-Crazy Tour version by a clear mile as Freddie hits the B4 on "wishing he was MILES and miles away" and does unique phrasing before the instrumental section, "It's Late" is probably the best version of the song as the vocal harmonies are bang on and Freddie hits some good notes on the performance, and "Now I'm Here" sounds great! "Love Of My Life" highlights Freddie's awesome tone, "'39" is a precursor to the Crazy Tour versions as Freddie embellishes the song in spots, "My Melancholy Blues" isn't quite as epic as other versions, but it still sounds good (and the Danish audience just love to clap along), "White Man" sounds good overall with Freddie embellishing notes (although there are better versions), "The Prophet's Song (Reprise)" sounds strong, "Stone Cold Crazy" sounds great (and it's really fast), "Bohemian Rhapsody" has some instrumental errors (Freddie hitting bad notes on the piano and Brian goofing up during the outro) but the vocal performance is good, "Keep Yourself Alive" is one of the best versions before the Crazy Tour as Freddie nails the main notes and sings it similar to versions from the "prime live era," "Tie Your Mother Down" is mostly good, but Freddie sounds rough on some notes, "We Will Rock You" has Freddie hitting a C5 instead of an A4 (I don't know if he did that on purpose or overshot the intended note), "We Are The Champions" is possibly the best version from the tour as Freddie nails the studio phrasing during the last chorus (and we'll keep on fighting) and sings the song well overall, "Sheer Heart Attack" is solid, and "Jailhouse Rock" is a rocking version! ENJOY!!! Note: Sorry if I butchered the Danish language in this description!
