When asked about how he decided to prepare for CAT he started explaining his journey from childhood. He was quite good in Mathematics and thus appeared in several olympiads. Further, he cracked the IIT-JEE exam and studied Chemical engineering. In the 3rd year of Engineering, he realised that he wanted to get into the field of management. So, he started preparing for the CAT exam in his 4th year. ✅ 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐀𝐓 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 He suggests several books for CAT exam preparation but also mentions that mock tests are the key to success in CAT. He provides his CAT preparation strategy which is: 🔥 Giver Mock tests. 🔥 Analyse your mistakes. 🔥 Don’t repeat the mistakes. ✅ 𝐈𝐬 𝐂𝐀𝐓 𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦? Manjot believes that even a 10th student can obtain a good score in the CAT exam. It’s a simple game of accuracy, speed, and logical sense. He also adds that the CAT exam is tough only because of high competition. ✅ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐀𝐓? Sharing his experience of CAT preparation, Manjot mentions that different people have different levels. So, everybody needs a different CAT preparation strategy. It’s essential for the candidate to identify their capabilities and levels and accordingly start CAT preparation. ✅ 𝐈𝐬 𝐂𝐀𝐓 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲? Manjot says that if a student knows the CAT pattern very well and is confident and then simply giving mock tests is enough for them. But in the case of students who need guidance and are unable to perform well in mock tests, they can opt for offline CAT coaching or online CAT coaching. ✅ 𝐂𝐀𝐓 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐲𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐬 There’s no fixed exam syllabus for CAT. Although Manjot mentions that the CAT exam pattern has three sections namely, Quantitative Aptitude, verbal ability, and logical reasoning. ✅ 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐀𝐓 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦 Bachelor’s degree is mandatory for the students to appear for the CAT exam. However, those in the final year of graduation can also appear for the exam. ✅ 𝐒𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐀𝐓 Manjot says that if a person remains focused and works towards it then they can easily crack CAT. Even after giving your best, if a student is unable to crack CAT then they should not get disheartened.
