3D Whitefish Shad - Softbait Underwater Action!

This is the latest addition to Savage Gear's series of 3d scanned lures. The design is based on a scan of a real whitefish, although I wonder what whitefish in the wild swims around with a paddle tail ;) In that sense, this softbait looks somewhat like an average paddle tail shad. The difference is in the details. The print and the relief of the fish scales on the bait are very realistic. What you also don't see on an average softbait are small fins. These give a little extra action in the water while fishing and also provide some stability. The plastic is very flexible and semi-translucent, which gives an attractive action underwater. Inside the paddle tail is a replaceable glass rattle chamber producing a nice ticking sound. The 3D Whitefish Shad is available in 4 sizes weighing up to 152 grams. In the video you can see the biggest and heaviest version in the color Dirty Roach. There are 17 other colors you can get this softbait in, so plenty of choice for the pike to give a kiss. Another thing to notice is that the softbait doesn't need much lead weight to fish. In the video I fish the bait first with an extra weight of 18 grams at the front. This goes fine, but the bait sinks quite fast in the water when pausing. For deep water or fishing on structures no problem, but the Whitefish shad can also be fished with a lot less weight. At the end of the video you can see in the underwater footage that even without extra weight the bait can be fished at a slightly lower speed. For shallower waters and in the warm season this is a great solution. 0:00 - intro 0:10 - unpacking 0:30 - rigging 1:25 - underwater action (+18 grams weight) 2:03 - action with spin-stops 2:31 - underwater action (no extra weight)
