Pekoe Trail Stage 15 ( Makulella to Ella ) Ella rock is a famous hiking destination among foreign and local travellers . Most common path to Ella rock starts from Kithalella railway station. Hike is considered to be a moderate one with an elevation gain of 300 + m . Are you aware that there is an easy way to climb Ella Rock from Makul ella side . It has only 150 m elevation gain in 4.5 km . So this would be an easy hike where elders and children also could perform without much difficulty . If you do pekoe Trail stage 15 ( Makulella to Ella ) you will be able to achieve this task coupling with a scenic rail hike.  Pekoe  Trail is 300+ km walking trail through central highlands of Srilanka covering Beautiful tea estates , Scenic  locations and historical places. It connects three districts Kandy , Badulla and Nuwara Eliya . Trail is divided in to 22 stages Starting from Hantana and end at Pedro Estate , Nuwara Eliya  Stage 15 is from Makulella to Ella which is only 9. 6 km . Within 4.5 km you will reach Ella rock . Next 2.5 km you will descend to Kithal ella. Last 2.5 km is a rail hike to Ella railway station .
