Café Crawl - Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto

In September, 2022 we did a Café Crawl down Roncesvalles Avenue in West Toronto to explore independent café life in this lively, historic barrio. If you’re coming from other parts of Toronto, a great route is to join the West Toronto Railpath at any of its entry points (Dupont/Bloor) and head south towards Dundas Street West (soon to be renamed). Head west towards Roncesvalles Avenue and then walk south on the east side. The first cafe we hit was Reunion Coffee Roasters. Great ambience and coffee with seating inside and out. I had a flat white and it was great. Rich, dark. Heading farther south on Roncesvalles you’ll hit Extra Butter Café. Already caffeinated I saved my last coffee of the morning for Cherry Bomb Coffee where I had an iced mocha latte and a freshly baked, delicious butter croissant recommended by the barista, who eats them like apples - once a day. There’s little seating inside but plenty outside. A great experience. PS - to get back to the West Toronto Railpath (we’ll do another Walk This Town on the WTR in the near future) we walked east on Marion Street from Cherry Bomb to Sorauren Avenue and north. Sorauren has to be one of the most unique streets in Toronto and is home to I DEAL coffee & wine bar and I DEAL ON THE PARK, both serving coffee. If you haven’t visited Roncesvalles and its wonderful vibe, do yourself a favour and spent part of your day there.
