Current PB/WR : • Devour: Asylum - Speedrun Nightmare B... Almost sub 17.. Now my run on Nightmare difficulty faster than on Hard huh ^^ Now let's figure out what's going on here: 1. Stair-Jump. The new jumping technique that I use here allows you to jump much higher than usual. How is this done? First, in the game settings, we go to Key Bindings and change the jump from Space to MouseWheelUp. Then, to perform the jump, we need to run up some stairs and almost at the very top, when there are about three-four stairs left, we put our finger to the beginning of the mouse wheel and scroll it up completely. The jump sometimes turns out to be too low or does not work at all; it requires practice, and over time you will adapt and understand how it works. 2. Stuck Molly. Now another interesting point. Using the high jump technique, my friend and I climbed into the textures in the Asylum and waited for what Molly would do in an obsessive state when we were on the ceiling between the West dorm and bathroom. When Molly was next to us, we moved along the ceiling towards the bathroom and our flashlights began to flicker, and we could hear Molly very clearly, as if she was right below us. But the most interesting thing was that the bathroom was locked and we didn't have a key to it, i.e. we hadn't opened it yet. Jumping from the ceiling, my friend and I discovered that Molly somehow got into the bathroom through a closed door.. and since she can't open doors that require a key, we could safely burn rats :D I decided to apply this to my speedruns and realized how it works. So, first we need the bathroom to be locked. When you find the key, don't open bathroom. The second condition for a successful speedrun on this strats will be the presence of a bucket with rats in some other room so that we can collect and burn 9 rats without opening the bathroom in which we lock Molly. So we have a locked bathroom and a bucket of rats that is NOT in the bathroom. Then I burn two rats at the same time to activate Molly, and so that her speed is not too slow, otherwise we will have to wait a long time for her. Usually after two rats I immediately go to do that trick with locking Molly, but this time I burned 3 rats first, but it's not so important. Then I pick up another rat, and holding it in my hands, I head for the stairs to the third floor, the one next to the west dorm. From this stairs, I make a trick-jump to the ceiling, and by the textures I go to the bathroom ceiling. When I hear Molly and realize that she is starting to chase me (or rather trying to), I stay near the bathroom door on the ceiling, moving a little to the right, then to the left so that Molly can successfully run through the closed door under me (when we are in textures, apparently the door does not load), and when I clearly hear Molly and my flashlight starts to flicker, I jump off the ceiling and continue to burn the remaining rats without fear for Molly. And at the very end, when 9 out of 10 rats are burned, we just have to go upstairs and open the bathroom, and wait for Molly to run out of there. Usually, Molly immediately runs down to the second floor, and after running there for a while, returns back to the third floor. But I do not exclude the possibility that after unlocking the bathroom, she can immediately run at you, but this has not happened to me yet. While she's downstairs, I pick up the last rat (I almost died from her wheelchair dudes here lol), then wait for Molly near the east dorm and jump down with the help of the well-known short cut. While you are running to the basement with a rat, usually Molly does not have time to run from the third floor to you, so you can do this even without having a battery after you wait for her near the east dorm and jump down. Well, that's basically it. Sometimes my game lagged for a couple of seconds, especially at the end of the run, I apologize for my sh!tty computer =D Enjoy !
