LIGHTENING AND DYING OVER HENNA | Vitamin C and Dandruff Shampoo

I want to be clear that I am not throwing any shade at hairstylists whatsoever! They have all gone through a lot of schooling to get their license and therefore they know what they're talking about. However, everyone has had different experiences in their lives and a few of them did not yet have experience with dying over henna; a few of them said they'd heard of bad things happening to people who dye over the henna. From those responses I can gather that it's a higher risk situation and it's important to be very careful, do strand tests with whatever you do, etc etc. All I know is that I was able to lighten henna after 5 of the vitamin C treatments and then dye over it successfully without any issues. Just to reiterate, I used LUSH caca Marron henna over my strawberry blonde hair so I knew the only thing on my hair would be that pure henna (no other dyes underneath, no metallic salts, etc etc). I then used an ammonia free semi-permanent dye (Clairol natural instincts) to cover that lighter color once some of the henna had been stripped away. I'm actually looking to remove that brown color now because I think my roots are grown out enough underneath for it to not look so weird (when my blond grows in a teeny tiny bit, it looks like I'm balding lol. I wanted to wait until a couple inches had grown in so it looked more normal haha!) In a few days I plan to do another vitamin C treatment and film it this time to see if it will remove some of the brown semi-perm dye since it still hasn't come out after 2 months, and also to show y'all the process.
