4 Drills for FASTER Running!

Too often runners try to increase speed by “leaning forward.” The problem is, bending at the waist or bringing your shoulders ahead of your body is not a good position. It will slow you down and place unnecessary stress on your back. Here are a few running drills is to correct for this issue. Remember drill with intention. The purpose of these exercises is to reinforce good running posture. Running Drill 1: hold a stick or lightweight bar over your head. Keep your arms straight Running Drill 2: Place a resistance band around your hips and focus on pulling your foot under your hips. If you feel yourself bending at the waist, use you hands to push your hips forward. Running Drill 3 & 4: Hold your arms in front of you at shoulder level. Or, place your hands behind your back. Perform running drill(s).
