Miguel Flores and Dat Nguyen met for a 10-round bout in the super featherweight division February 21, 2017 on PBC on FS1. Flores and Nguyen entered the fight simultaneously making statements. Flores fought from his undefeated record, carefully observing Nguyen as he wasted no time in setting up shots for Flores' tough competition for the night. Although Flores has been used to dominating in the early rounds, Nguyen started sharing his impressive combo’s in round 2. Round 2 stood to be the difference maker for Nguyen as he showed no signs in letting up for Flores to possibly recover. By rounds 3 and 4, Nguyen made it his duty to close each round, surpassing Flores on the scorecard. The 5th round was the round to change Flores’ record, forever. After trading blows a few moments in the earlier part of the 5th round, Nguyen made sure he sealed the deal by landing a nice combo and a vicious left hook, untamable even for Flores. Offering speed, accuracy and power, Nguyen released his greatest gems causing the referee to end the fight towards the latter part of the 5th round.
