He spoke on prayer. He was inspired by Psalm 91 to minister prayer and healing to people during the Cholera outbreak in 1854. He was moved with compassion to help people in any way that he could. He couldn't bear to think of someone possibly dying in their sins. Spurgeon, at the age of 22 started a pastor's college. He also started orphanages for both boys and girls, and different ministries to help care for the poor, including a book fund to help supply books to people who normally wouldn't be able to afford them. He also wrote dozens of books himself, and also published hundreds, if not thousands, of his sermons. He had a huge impact in his community back when he was alive, and now all over the world now through his published books and sermons!
