Level Crossings, Dunmore Quarry Siding NSW, Australia.

The two level crossings shown in the video are located on the Dunmore Quarry Siding, which is situated between Wollongong and Kiama on the South Coast Line. The siding is privately owned by Boral and is used to transport product from the quarry to a concrete processing plant in Sydney (St Peters). The siding isn't very busy these days and usually sees around one train per week. The first crossing (with American looking crossbucks) is for the northbound exit ramp from the Princes Highway onto Tabbita Road. It is a one-way road and the crossing only has signals for that direction. It was installed around 2005/06 when the nearby overpass was constructed, prior to this the Princes Hwy crossed the siding at a level crossing slightly further to the east. Both signals have a single pair of Henkes & Harmon lights, with all Harmon wording removed from the logos. The lights are fitted with LED's which are arranged in a hexagonal pattern, they look very similar to WCH 1st generation LED's. The signal on the left (western side) has a Western Cullen Hayes mechanical bell. The second crossing is for a local cycle/walking path and is located on the site of the original Princes Hwy crossing. It has the strange combination of being protected by crossbucks and "Give Way" signs normally used at passive road crossings, and also by Don't Walk lights and alarms which can usually be found at pedestrian crossings. This crossing was installed around 2009/10 and has Aldridge "Don't Walk" lights and what appear to be Banshee Excel sounders. Both crossings share the same relay case and are manually activated by shared pushbuttons, as the crossing has no train detection. Train information: 1st/2nd train: 1933 empty hoppers from Cooks River (St Peters) to Dunmore Quarry, with locomotives TT112 and TT118 (distributed power). The train can be seen arriving at the quarry in the afternoon and then departing again for Cooks River later that night once loading was completed (as train number 9134). Filmed on January 15, 2018. 3rd train: Just over a week later, the same train (number 1933) can be seen arriving at the quarry again to collect the next load for transport to Cooks River. Filmed on January 24, 2018.
