I just love the versatility of dhal/lentils. Dhal/Lentils are consumed in many more countries than I had ever imagined. I will slowly but surely cover dhal/lentil recipes from all parts of the world. Everybody needs to get inspired by the various ways this protein-rich ingredient can be incorporated into your diet. Adding coconut milk, pandan leaves, and cinnamon gives this preparation the Sri Lankan touch. Economical, healthy, and simple to say the least, Sri Lankan dal will blow your mind. Hope you guys will love this video & please: 👍 Like | 📨 Comment | 📢 Share | ▶️ SUBSCRIBE SUBSCRIBE Now: https://cutt.ly/tIKY9OA 👉 Timeline: 00:00 -Intro 00:10 -Mixing & Cooking 01:47 -Tempering 03:03 -cooking 03:40 -Result 03:50-Ingredients 🔴 INGREDIENTS: (serves 4) 1 cup Red Dhal/Lentils (Masoor Dal) ¼ cup thinly sliced Onions 2 slit Green Chilies 1 teaspoon Curry powder Red chili powder as per taste 3-4 Pandan leaves 2-3 Curry leaves 1 Cinnamon stick 3-4 Garlic pods Salt to taste 3 cups water 1 cup Coconut milk 👉 For Tempering: 2-3 teaspoons Coconut oil 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds ¼ teaspoon Fenugreek seeds ¼ cup sliced Onions 3 Garlic pods 2 Curry leaves 2 Pandan leaves 1 dried Red Chili 🔴 METHOD: 1. Add red dhal, sliced onions, green chilies, curry powder, red chili powder, pandan leaves, curry leaves, cinnamon stick, garlic, salt, and water. Mix well. Now turn on the stove. 2. Once this all cooks, pour the coconut milk. Cook for about 5 minutes. 3. Prepare the tempering. Let mustard seeds splutter and fenugreek seeds turn brown in coconut oil. Add the garlic, onion, curry leaves, dried red chili, and pandan leaves, and let them turn slightly brown.
