Original Intersound Instrument Voicing Preamplifier IVP vs FTelettronica IVP Pedal Shootout

Signal Chain: Fender Telecaster (Neck Pickup) Boss TU-3 OBNE Signal Blender -Red Loop: Intersound IVP -Blue Loop FTelettronica IVP Vox AC15 Audio-Technica AT4033a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Recorded into Audacity. No post processing. Thoughts: I have gone down the rabbit hole of the IVP pedal clones and just committed to getting the real thing. In this demo I compare the FTelettronica pedal clone to an original. In my opinion, you can dial in the pedal and get effectively the same sound as an original one. If you are in the market for an IVP just get the FTelettronica and be stoked about it. One obvious thing I noticed is the Intersound is quite noisy. The one I own came from Australia and is being powered by a transformer which may be creating the noise. I have played a number of the four knob IVP clones which primarily work to clone the input gain stage. There are some killer options, my favorite being the Noise Space Audio IVP which has not left my board in two years. In now owning both the FTelettronica and the Intersound IVP in addition, I have learned that the real magic is not just that first gain stage but together with the EQ section. My personal conclusion is just buy the FTelettronica and you will have the same great experience. If there is any small differences, they are imperceivable in a live or band mix. Please comment if there is any deeper and specific comparisons you want to hear between the two. I may do another one running them straight into a power amp in the future.
