Historically, there were tennis players who were specialists of the serve and volley across the 80s and 90s: John McEnroe, Yannick Noah, Pat Cash, Stefan Edberg, Pat Rafter, Pete Sampras… The list goes on. While the decision to slow down surfaces on Tour has made this tactic less common, there are still several advantages to employing the serve and volley in your game.
