In this Grade 5 ABRSM Discovering Music Theory lesson I will continue to guide you through the seventh chapter of ABRSM Music Theory in Practice Grade 5 which looks at the instruments of the orchestra. Strings, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion instruments are discussed. This chapter also looks at transposing and non-transposing instruments, and also percussion instruments of definite and indefinite pitch. I have been teaching music theory for over twenty five years and I’ll help you every step of the way - just as if you were sitting next to me. I have provided free a PDF information booklet with all the information you’ll need to work through the Grade 1 ABRSM Discovering Music Theory workbook, available in A4 and US Letter. Music Theory is an integral part of any musician’s studies. Understanding the structures behind the music we play supports our practise and performance.
