Caribou Crossing Single Barrel Canadian Whisky Uncorking & first Impressions

Caribou Crossing Single Barrel Canadian Whisky bottled at 40% ABV uncorking and first impressions. On the nose, I get caramel and vanilla mixed with a musty fermenting grain note which I have not experienced before. On the palate, there is a good amount of honey sweetness with toffee at first, but baking spices take over with some oak bitters. It is surprisingly flavorful for a barely-legal ABV whiskey. The finish is mostly dominated by some lingering spices and a bitterness which feels a bit medicinal.
