WFIL Famous 56 Philadelphia - Jim O'Brien April 1972 - Radio Aircheck Jim O'Brien came to Philly, after spending time at KHJ Los Angeles, & WOR-FM New York. He joined WFIL, in 1970, where he spent 6 years on the air, and then moved to television, to WPVI, channel 6. He hosted Dialing for Dollars, and then moved to Channel 6 Action News as the zany weatherman. He became a local superstar. People waited for him to do the weather every evening. Philadelphia LOVED him. Sadly, he was killed in a skydiving accident in 1983, and Philly mourned over his passing, This aircheck features Jim O'Brien during his heyday at 56 WFIL.
