This is the super annoying sound the heater in my 924S Porsche makes. The squeaky noise is coming from a bad bearing that is in the center of the plastic fan that bolts onto the shaft of the heater blower motor. This is the same blower motor and fan assembly used in 924 and early 944 Porsches. This is me, driving in the Porsche on my way home. I decided to capture the sound it makes on video. Just another thing that has to be fixed on this old Porsche. The bearing is pressed/cast into the plastic fan, so I will have to get creative if I want to try to fix it without replacing the whole fan. Actually, I don't think they even sell the fans anymore, so we'll have to see if somehow I can put a new bearing into the fan when I get there. The bearings are originally cast into the plastic. The noise is from the lubrication leaking out of the bearing. The seal that holds the lubrication in the bearing is deteriorated/gone. This will definitely give you a headache. Luckily the noise goes away at times when there is enough air pressure pushing on the fan as I drive down the road. It comes and goes. Super annoying and has to be fixed.
