* SCENES FROM THE THAMES SAILING BARGE PARADE * MUSIC BY ARNAUD van BEEK *

It has been just over eight years ago (since September 17th & 18th 2016), when I was asked to record the Thames Sailing Barge Parade in London, during the Totally Thames Festival. I decided to return to my recorded footage files from that time and produce a shorter film, covering the journey from West India Dock to the Pool of London and back, using the soundtrack that I had used in the original recording with special thanks to Arnaud van Beek, Music Composer of AB Music Productions, who gave me permissive to use his music in the original film. I recorded the event from SB Ardwina and my wife Geraldine recorded the barges passing under Tower Bridge. However, the raw footage was, in places, very wobbly to put it mildly, and so I spent quite a lot of time manually stabalising various scenes in post production, hence the slight judder in some of the shots, apologies for that. Nowadays, we have 3 axis gimbals at out disposal that allow us to record smooth, level and rock-steady shots, I wish I had at the time! I have also included scenes that have not been shown before, in my original video. The saying goes, 'never film children and animals', I think I can add to that, thus 'never film on sailing barges that go up and down in a rough swell, and I can freely admit that I felt 'sea-sick' on a few occasions whilst filming from Ardwina, in parts of the wider reaches of the River Thames ! Many thanks to the owner, skipper and crew of Ardwina, to accommodate me during this auspicious event. I had spent 6 months producing the original film and about a week in post production, gathering the scenes to make this shorter film. I decided to use the music in the soundtrack to maintain a continuity and provide a level to enhance the story of the film. I do hope you All enjoy it and I plan to return to taking a future journey on a sailing barge somewhere and create more films to promote the barge 'community' and what it stands for. Best wishes
