Walking Toronto: Downtown | St Lawrence Market, Esplanade, and the Distillery | Evening | Spring

St. Lawrence Market features hundred vendors who sell everything from local mustard to fresh pasta, lobster to bread, knick knacks, and more. Famous for peameal sandwiches, of which there are many to choose from. The Esplanade is a largely residential area, featuring mostly low-rise buildings, with plenty of park area for locals, with playgrounds, fountains, and basketball. The Distillery District is a pedestrian-only area, that once housed a large whiskey distillery. Crowds come for its cobblestone streets lined with hip indie restaurants, bars and boutiques, as well as seasonal events like the famed Winter Market in December. This walk takes us from the famed Flatiron Building, along Front Street to St. Lawrence Market, down Market Street and into the Market itself, through to the south exit, along Esplanade, and through the Distillery District.
