DesignStudio co-founder Paul Stafford, took some time out to catch up with Brian Chesky – CEO of Airbnb, to discuss the brand evolution, building partnerships and to look at the wider implications of being a design led business. Converging at Airbnb’s headquarters – currently also home to an exhibition about the rebrand, Brian and Paul looked back on the past 12 months of working together, why Airbnb chose DesignStudio and why brand should be integral to business evolution. Discussing the rebrand, Brian tells us why, for Airbnb, it is was important for the project to be a company wide effort – not just a job for the marketing team. By involving top level management and having creatives working in partnership the rebrand encapsulated all areas of the company to communicate truly authentic messages to their internal and external communities.
