DIY 1V geodesic dome build. Prefabricated panel construction and dome assembly by Thunder Domes

This is a 11 ft wide prefabricated 1V geodesic dome that was built at our shop here in Chicago and then assembled on site in under 3 hours with a crew of 2-3 people. This type of dome is perfect to prolong the use of our outdoor patio space during the colder months and with an added heater the dome maintains temperatures of around 50 degrees Fahrenheit when the outdoor space temps is 30. Each 2x4 is cut is the same length and is cut to the same angle. We then fasten the triangles using our custom job and then wrap each panel with thick 20 gauge vinyl. Finally we nail green strips to the outside to keep the vinyl in place. Once each panel is built we then assemble the dome from ground up using a pair of clamps and hex head screws.
