After damaging my awesome Seiko SRPD51, the 5KX in blue, I decided I wanted to use that case for a new build. After finding a new OEM Seiko SKX173 dial, I had a vision for the next project. I wanted the look of an original SKX173 on the modern 5KX platform with the updated NH36 movement. This video documents the transformation and build process. I used the following parts for this build: Case, bezel, crown/stem, hardlex crystal : from the Seiko 5KX SRPD51 Caseback, chapter ring, bezel insert : 3rd party aftermarket Dial : Seiko SKX173 original Movement (NH36) and handset : from the Heimdallr SKX v2 homage watch The build process was fun and I am beyond thrilled with the end result.
