hello guys hope you all are fine here is the summary of the martyr from b.ed first year compulsory english book Summary The Martyr is a story based on the people’s movement 2063 B.S. The main characters are Sunil and his mother Kanchi. Sunil’s father died in the earlier movement so that he is the orphan child whom his mother grew up by working at other’s house. The only son wants to go in the movement but the mother rejects. All of his friends also go so that he does not like to be absence. The mother tries her best to stop him but he insists and promises to come early in the evening. The mother does not want to send the child because she lost her husband but she did not get anything. In the name of equality, she is not allowed to go back to her mother’s house since she got marriage with a Dalit. The rich became riches and poor became poorer from the success of earlier movement. Gopichand, a man of his place expresses the hopeless case of general people. He says that the movement becomes success but the condition of poor will remain same. But Sunil does not listen anyone and participates in the movement. He sees many people being bitten by the police on the Ring road of Kathmandu but he feels proud and finds him running with others. The slogan is “We want democracy, Down the autocracy!”. There he hears ‘bang’ and his eyes are covered with tear gas. He falls down on the ground and dies there.
